We are forever searching for meaning in our lives. Who are we? How did we get here? What is our purpose? And so on. All the Leaves Are on the Ground is a visual anecdote of man’s quest for purpose, wholeness, and understanding—using nature, primarily, as a metaphor to explore the boundaries of figurative art.
Ground zero is our birth: the birth of potential—initially fragile and inadequate, like a withered shrub—that gradually blossoms into the most beautiful flowers of knowledge and accomplishment, as we grow and strive to rediscover who we once were and all that we can become.
A meaningful life is not guaranteed to anyone. Only consciousness is assured to the living. Our human journey may or may not devolve into a failed experiment. The knowledge we attain along the way—and the manner and discipline with which we apply it—will ultimately shape the possibility of a purposeful existence.
These themes, and more, are explored in this creative collaboration of literature and art that is All the Leaves Are on the Ground.
